If you’re looking for an easy to prepare meal that brings everyone to the table then you’ve got to try this manicotti recipe. These long pasta tubes are stuffed with a delicious cheese and meat mixture and then baked until tender. This recipe calls for ground beef, but feel free to replace it with another meat like sausage, pork or turkey. Enjoy!
- 1 Jar of Pasta Jay’s Classic Marinara
- 9 pasta tubes or fresh pasta sheets
- 18 oz. ricotta cheese
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 tablespoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups mozzarella (for ricotta mixture)
- 1 cup mozzarella (for topping)
Step 1: Pre-heat your oven to 400° F.
Step 2: In a large pot, begin warming your Pasta Jay’s Classic Marinara over low heat.
Step 3: In another pot, boil your pasta tubes according to box directions. Cook to al dente. (If using fresh pasta sheets, no cooking necessary)
Step 4: Place ground beef in a medium-large non-stick pan, over a medium-high heat. As the beef cooks make sure to break it into equal size pieces. You’re looking for your meat to brown in color. When the meat is finished cooking, drain the fat and prepare to add the ground beef together with your other ingredients.
Step 5: In a large mixing bowl, mix together: the ricotta cheese, dried basil, black pepper, 2 cups mozzarella cheese, and browned ground beef you just finished cooking.
Step 6: Fill your pre-cooked pasta tubes or fresh sheets with your ricotta cheese and meat mixture. Be careful not to tear or puncture the pasta itself.
Step 7: Line your oven safe baking dish with the pre-heated Pasta Jay’s Classic Marinara. Place manicotti in the dish and top with more marinara. Top with remaining cup of mozzarella cheese.
Step 8: Bake at 400° for 30 minutes, looking for crispy edges on shells and bubbling marinara sauce.
Step 9: Remove from the oven and enjoy!
